Hattie Briggs is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, originally from Chichester but currently based in London. An independent artist and regular busker at Network Rail stations, she was fortunate enough to be discovered by platinum-selling singer, Alfie Boe, who was stopped in his tracks by her pure vocal while she was busking at Paddington Station in October 2018. She was personally invited by him to open all 21 shows on his recent UK tour, the finale of which was at the Royal Albert Hall on April 17th 2019, after which she and her band received a standing ovation. "I can honestly say it was the first time I had seen an audience stand and applaud a support act.” - https://tinyurl.com/y2392a4j. To top things off, Alfie welcomed Hattie back onto the stage each night during his set to perform a duet, which went down a storm with audiences.
“I found Hattie busking in Paddington station, a beautiful little moment, it was wonderful, a peaceful moment within the chaos of London, a poignant moment that stuck in my mind and so I invited her on tour… I want her to go with her music and fly” Alfie Boe, Harrogate International Centre 2019
Since making the decision to drop out of a Russian degree in her second year at Oxford University, Hattie has released several EPs, two critically acclaimed albums, played live and been interviewed on national television (BBC Breakfast), had airplay on BBC Radios 1, 2, and 6 Music, and embarked on tours around the UK, the Netherlands and the U.S.. Festival appearances include "The Great Escape" Brighton, "Secret Garden Party" and a showcase in the Club Tent at Cambridge Folk Festival. Named the first ever winner of Fender Undiscovered Artist of the Year in 2017, Hattie won the prize of supporting Lucy Rose at the prestigious O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire. Other artists that she has opened for include chart topping duo, Ward Thomas, at the O2 London’s Brooklyn Bowl, Lauren Aquilina, Stornoway, John Smith and Seth Lakeman.
Influenced by Joni Mitchell, Foy Vance, Goldfrapp and Jeff Buckley, Hattie writes and sings straight from the heart, bringing together pop, folk and electronic influences, which she delivers with honesty and intent.
Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music - "knows exactly what she's doing", and "it's gorgeous" (commenting on single "Up to You")

"Hattie Briggs is a triple threat; top of the pile singer, songwriter and musician." ***** Simon Redley, Maverick
"‘Young Runaway’, the sophomore album from British artist, Hattie Briggs, is an epic masterpiece". Lisa Hafey, Essentially Pop
"The album started with a stretch of water and closes with another in the shape of “The River” – opening with just guitar and vocals before the addition of the strings take you to a dream like place with the song ending with the gentle tweeting of birds and the water quietly rushing by. A collection of songs deserving of as wide an audience as possible – quite possibly the most beautiful set of songs you will hear this year." Chris, W21
“‘Red & Gold’ was a strong debut that showed that Hattie Briggs was an exceptional talent but not even that album prepared us for the little gems that sparkle and shine which make up ‘Young Runaway’. Where Hattie goes from here is anybody’s guess and she no doubt is already working on that. For now though ‘Young Runaway’ is one of those albums which is required daily listening.” Malcolm Carter, Penny Black
"Back down at Bank Gardens, Hattie Briggs proved once again why she is one of Stroud best-loved local artists with a spine-tingling set." Jamie Wiseman, Stroud News & Journal - Stroud Fringe review
